Hey All!
I know I'm a little late... but I had made this Christmas video (the first "real" video I have made!) and forgot to post it.  Even though Christmas was yesterday I thought I would still share.  Enjoy!

Christams Decor and Such

Hello Everyone!
Today I want to share my Christmas decorations with you!

The above penguin (it is a penguin!  Not an owl!) has a story.  I have not named him yet, but have been trying to decide if Winston, or William, or Archie... and I have other names.  We'll see!  Anywho!  Below is the first part of the story of my penguin.

Now that you have watched that touching commercial, you can hear about my penguin.  I saw this commercial with one of my bosses and a co-worker and a friend.  We were all really emotional about it (probably because in the middle of a stressy school environment it was what we needed).  Afterwards we all wanted a pet penguin.  And for Christmas, our boss bought us this penguin, which was almost as good as a real one.  She also knit the scarves which makes the whole thing 1,000x better!
Anyway, now that you have heard the touching story about my penguin, I will show you some pictures of my decorating!  I made paper snowflakes (you can never be too old to make these!)

One other amazing Christmas-y thing I was able to do was make peppermint bark!  This happened last Monday when Biology class was cancelled.

Then last Wednesday in the morning there was super gorgeous frost which I took a couple pictures of...

Then I took some "creative" styled pictures of the different decorations in my room... these are some paper lanterns:

I hope you all have a wonderful Weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just a little collage of some of my favorite pictures I took last fall.  I am so thankful that God gave me the means to buy the camera I have as well as the gorgeous things around me to photograph!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving (If you celebrate it where you live ;)

Thanksgiving/Autumn Leaf Decor

Hello all!  Today I have a little tutorial for you: one for thanksgiving if you celebrate that, or just for fall decorations.  I know many places (such as where I live) already have snow, so these could be a little late, however, if you don't have snow, or just for next years decorations, here is a little tutorial on what I did to decorate part of my room.
First I collected around 20-25 different leaves, two or three from each different tree in the woods, and I brought them inside.  I then took mod podge and a paint brush and slathered the mod podge all over the top side of each leaf and let them dry, for around two hours.  You don't have to let them dry that much if you don't want though :)  I turned them over and did the same thing to the other side.

Next I put them inside my leave presser... aka the 1980s dictionary that I have in my room.  After letting them sit in there overnight I carefully took them out (making sure not to rip the pages in case the mod podge was not fully dry)  And then I put another layer of mod podge on, just to make sure they were fully sealed.
I had tried sticking them on my walls with masking tape (or painter's tape), however the mod podge didn't quite stick with that.  Then I decided to try sticky tack, which did work quite well.  One thing I noticed however, was that the layer of mod podge would peal off if I tried to take it from the leaves.  So if you want to use the sticky tack for something else, you must be really careful while taking off from the leaves, or just re-mod podge them.  Here is what the finished wall looked like.

I hope this helps and that you can use this either for thanksgiving decoration, or next years fall!  Have a wonderful day!

Pictures of the Week // 9

Hello all! Today I have some pictures to show you.  The fall leaves have fallen and November's bleak brown has entered the weather and landscape.  Yet there is still an unspoken crisp beauty surrounding it all. I forgot to put my signature on these ones, so please don't steal.  Thanks and enjoy!
