Happy Thanksgiving!

          Just a little collage of some of my favorite pictures I took last fall.  I am so thankful that God gave me the means to buy the camera I have as well as the gorgeous things around me to photograph!  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving (If you celebrate it where you live ;)

Thanksgiving/Autumn Leaf Decor

          Hello all!  Today I have a little tutorial for you: one for thanksgiving if you celebrate that, or just for fall decorations.  I know many places (such as where I live) already have snow, so these could be a little late, however, if you don't have snow, or just for next years decorations, here is a little tutorial on what I did to decorate part of my room.
          First I collected around 20-25 different leaves, two or three from each different tree in the woods, and I brought them inside.  I then took mod podge and a paint brush and slathered the mod podge all over the top side of each leaf and let them dry, for around two hours.  You don't have to let them dry that much if you don't want though :)  I turned them over and did the same thing to the other side.

          Next I put them inside my leave presser... aka the 1980s dictionary that I have in my room.  After letting them sit in there overnight I carefully took them out (making sure not to rip the pages in case the mod podge was not fully dry)  And then I put another layer of mod podge on, just to make sure they were fully sealed.
          I had tried sticking them on my walls with masking tape (or painter's tape), however the mod podge didn't quite stick with that.  Then I decided to try sticky tack, which did work quite well.  One thing I noticed however, was that the layer of mod podge would peal off if I tried to take it from the leaves.  So if you want to use the sticky tack for something else, you must be really careful while taking off from the leaves, or just re-mod podge them.  Here is what the finished wall looked like.

          I hope this helps and that you can use this either for thanksgiving decoration, or next years fall!  Have a wonderful day!

Pictures of the Week // 9

Hello all! Today I have some pictures to show you.  The fall leaves have fallen and November's bleak brown has entered the weather and landscape.  Yet there is still an unspoken crisp beauty surrounding it all. I forgot to put my signature on these ones, so please don't steal.  Thanks and enjoy!

Vintage Finds: Musical Teapot

          Here's another Vintage Find for you today!  Recently my grandfather gave me this teapot, which doubles as a music box which I believe plays "Tea for Two".  It was made in Japan and I'm guessing it was during the 1950s.

           So!  What do you think of this teapot?  Is there some special vintage item that you really treasure?  Or is vintage just not your thing.  Let me know, and stay warm in this chilly weather (if you have the chilly weather were you are ;) )

After Absence

Hello all!
Sorry there have not been any posts for what seems like a month. That's crazy because it really hasn't been that long, even though is seems like it!  However I have been very productive... most of the time.  One excuse is I have a couple posts that I would like to publish, but need to finish.  The real reason for being absent is I had to write an analysis on Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, as well as present with my group to the class.  However you probably don't want to hear about that, so here are the pictures that I have taken at different times during this gorgeous fall weather!

 Achievement got!  Lensflare 1.0! ;)

I hope you have been enjoying the lovely weather {if you have had it like we Minnesotans have ;)}
